Last month the Allen County Election Board was inquiring of the town for a place to hold the Presidential Election on November 3rd, 2020.

They have officially decided to move the polls for Monroeville to the Cornerstone Youth Center located at 19819 Monroeville Rd Monroeville IN 46773

Here are the official plans for trick-or-treating this year!

On Friday October 30th there will be trick or treating door to door around town. The hours will be from 5pm - 8pm. If you would like to participate in passing out candy, please leave your porch light on as an indicator.

On Saturday October 31st between the hours of 2pm - 4:30 pm there will be no door to door trick or treating, instead we will have trunk or treat at the park along the walk pathway. You are encouraged to participate in both collecting and distribution of candy. During the same time on Saturday there will be pumpkin decorating inside the pavilion. The evening will be capped at the park with a traditional Halloween parade at 6 pm.

Happy Halloween everyone!

To whom it may concern:

On March 19, 2020, Governor Eric Holcomb issued Executive order 20-05 in part not allowing the disconnection of essential services. This order stated that providers of gas and electric utilities, broadband, telecommunication, water and wastewater services are prohibited from discontinuing service to any customer in the state as these services are essential to Hoosiers and Hoosier businesses particularly during this state of public health emergency. Therefore, at that time the Town Board of Monroeville not only held all disconnections they ordered that no penalties would be charged on the past due billings for the months of April, May and June.

As of August 14, 2020, the Governor has lifted the moratorium on disconnections. The Town Board of Monroeville is now faced with the daunting task of getting all of the past due water, sewage, trash and storm utility bills back to current status. At the August 5, 2020 town board meeting it was decided that at the beginning of the month starting in September 2020 a disconnect notice would be mailed to the past due customer. On this notice will be the past due balance along with the current balance. You as a past due customer will be required to pay the current portion of the bill along with 10% of the past due portion within two weeks. The disconnect date will be on the notice along with the minimum payment that will need to be made to stay connected. This will amount to the entire current portion of the bill along with at least 10% of the past due balance.

This will apply to all delinquent accounts and there will be no exceptions. The Monroeville utility is now set up that payments can be made using debit or credit cards. This service can be utilized through the Town website at If the utility is shut off there will be a mandatory $50 reconnect fee. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in getting the utility payments back to current status.
